Had a typically badly timed dose of flu over Christmas which has been lingering. When is there a good time for Flu I wonder ? Anyway, I just haven't been able to get it together to update the blog! It's just too cold and bleak out there and my wifi doesn't work in bed. So here it is. The great and much awaited minor literary epistle.
Gearing up for the May exhibition for the Brighton festival and have a really interesting collection of new and regular artists contributing exciting art. Will keep you posted with news and stills of their work in the coming four months. Have been trying to catch up with some of regular Bungeroosh artists: Miranda says she is working on lino and wood carving prints for May:
"Today the builders have gutted my bathroom and kitchen and Sam's in my bed "ill", and my cats have become alarmed, so expect all this in a lino cut soon, or some kind of alternative escapism involving animals in dresses".
Suzanne Breakwell, is working on her paper cutting sculptures under recycled glass bottles which were really admired (and purchased) at Christmas along with some framed pieces. That's all I've managed to glean from the moments I have crawled out from under the duvet to moan and overdose on Lemsip.
We had another small radio spot but this time on the lesser known BrightonFree Radio for Christmas which was a bit of local PR for the gallery. Sarah Ketelaars (photographer) and Charlie High (silversmith/jeweller) very kindly went along to chat for ten minutes which turned out to be an HOUR interview! Sarah reported it was an "interesting" community radio experience (say no more) during which they appeared to be re wiring the studio! I Thank Jonathan for his kind offer and hope that it was entertaining for their listener. Sorry, (s) it's the Lemsip talking. I will try and put some links up when I can find the website it was on! I know Sarah will be keen..not! I understand in was an extended exercise in the art of waffle, intermittently interrupted by rewiring and furniture removal.
I've loaded up some stills from the Christmas Show which went really well as usual. Over 100 visitors per day and great sales. Thanks to all our regulars who came and were so positive and supportive as ever, I'll be bugging them with an email campaign soon for the May show.
I've often wondered how celebrities get addicted to painkillers. It baffled me but I am starting to get it. Life is good without pain. Just one more of those big pink ibruprofen can't harm can it?
